Green Leaves on Ash Tree

Wilding Wallbeds cares about the environment. All the wood we use in our product is harvested from a sustainable forestry program called the Hardwood Forestry Fund. This program plants new trees in recently harvested areas and manages techniques that promote hardwood timber growth. They are also involved with educating the public about protecting the environment and the wise use of our nation’s renewable forest resources. We are also compliant with the standards created by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. who work with various conservation partners in the community and government to improve the sustainable forest management in North America.

The plywood we use in our Murphy Beds and cabinets have a very small amount of formaldehyde as global industry standards go. Formaldehyde has exceptional properties that cannot be easily replaced by other products. It’s necessary to continue its use until there are additional alternatives available on the commercial market. Items such as paper towels, photographic film, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, lipstick, nail polish, and glues all use formaldehyde as a bonding agent http://www.formaldehydetesting.com/whatisformaldehyde.html.

We are compliant with the Zero Emissions standard issued by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This association regulates formaldehyde emissions in composite wood products, such as plywood, sold in the state of California. California has some of the most stringent air standards in the world. We are happy to say that 100% of our plywood panels are CARB compliant. Find more information on how we are going green by visiting the Wilding Wallbed’s Green Initiative page.
