Murphy Bed Lift Mechanisms

Wilding Wallbeds features the state-of-the-art piston lift mechanism with few moving parts and the latest Spring Driven lift mechanism available in the market today. Our mechanisms are intended for every day residential or commercial use and will not fatigue. Both the pistons and the spring system can be adjusted to make it easier or harder to lift. We are so confident in our mechanisms that we offer a lifetime warranty on all mechanism parts. Our Piston system is whisper quiet and very easy to lower and put away. The Piston system also features a patented locking leg which improves safety in the home, the Wall bed can not open unless you mean to open it by activating the legs.

Piston Lift Mechanism

  • Features a state-of-the-art piston lift mechanism with few moving parts. Patented system is used both residentially and commercially in Hyatts, Hiltons, Sleep study labs, studio apartments and residences in every state in the USA. The Piston system requires less space to use than any other lift mechanism available.
  • No floor mounting. It attaches to the wall with three screws. This unit is able to be moved to a new room or a different residence as your needs change.
  • The mechanism is completely contained within the cabinet and once set, requires absolutely no adjustments.
  • The locking mechanism prevents the bed from being lowered accidentally and locks the bed inside the cabinet when not in use.
  • Panel bed design eliminates bi-fold doors.
  • Sets up in approximately 1.5 hours. No extra time is wasted putting side cabinets together. They are all fully assembled.
  • The piston-lift mechanism is counter-balanced and designed for daily use.
  • Mechanism is self adjusting. It can be adjusted for mattress weight.
  • Uses any standard mattress.
  • Easily moved without permanent damage.

Spring Lift Mechanism

  • Features spring mechanisms consisting of several individual coils. As of all coil driven mechanisms, this requires less space both width and projection as compared with older spring driven systems.
  • No floor mounting. It attaches to the wall with three screws. This unit is able to be moved to a new room or a different residence as your needs change.
  • Compact self contained spring chambers integrated into the surrounding cabinet; once properly set up, requires no adjustments.
  • Static force used to hold the bed in the up position.
  • Panel bed design eliminates bi-fold doors.
  • Requires two to three hours of setup time for bed. Cabinets come fully assembled.
  • Utilize high carbon steel springs designed for daily use. Lifetime guaranty.
  • Requires adding or eliminating springs to balance the unit for the weight of the mattress.
  • Uses any standard mattress.
  • Easily moved without permanent damage.

Other Companies

  • Rely on bulky, spring mechanisms consisting of many complicated moving parts. Some designs are not meant for daily use and may not fit standard bedding.
  • Most models must be floor mounted. The carpet must be cut away and the floor is permanently damaged.
  • The mechanism must be bolted to the floor then the cabinetry must be set up around the mechanism. Doors must be hung and adjusted to fit properly.
  • No locking mechanism.
  • Require bi-fold doors that block access to side cabinets.
  • Requires four to five hours of setup time for bed. Then the side cabinets must be fully assembled requiring between one and three hours each.
  • The springs expand and contract and fatigue with age, causing the bed to sag out of the cabinet. Springs are expensive and difficult to replace. As springs breaks, there is increased possibility of catastrophic failure.
  • Requires adding or eliminating springs to balance the unit for the weight of the mattress.
  • Some require expensive private label bedding, foam mattress or substandard bedding.
  • Floor mounting and complicated mechanism means it is not easy to move.
