Wilding Bunk Bed Weight Test

We frequently get asked how much weight will a Wilding Bunk Bed hold. We had previously put three adults in the upper bunk, approximately 540lbs, without the bed so much as making a single sound. So we felt comfortable stating that the Bunk Bed would hold over 500 pounds. Then we decided to put the Bunk Bed to a real test. We decided to get bags of rock salt, 40 pounds each, and layer them in the main bed box of the upper bunk. We found that each layer would hold eleven bags, so each layer represents 440 pounds. We brought a cart in with 44 bags of rock salt and layered them all in the bed...that's 1760 pounds. The Wallbed still stood tight and sound, so we went back to the truck for all of the rest of the rock salt. In the end, we had all 60 bags equaling 2400 pounds of rock salt in just the upper bunk of the Wall bed. After the test we raised and lowered the bunk bed. There was no loss of motion at all.
