    What is the Bookcase Wallbed style?

    Where else can you get the convenience of a Murphy Bed and the storage of an integral bookcase in one unit? All of our Bookcase Wallbeds, whether Twin, Full or Queen size come with a commercially rated, powder coated, steel Murphy frame complete with European style wood slat mattress support for comfort and wall mount brackets for easy setup. Standard Bookcase Wallbeds will hold up to 200 lbs. per bookcase section (400 lbs. total), while the Bi-Fold Bookcase Wallbeds will hold up to 60 lbs. per bookcase section (240 lbs. total) evenly distributed. The bookcase cabinets on the front of the bed are 8 1/4″ deep.

    Mattresses cannot exceed 11″ in depth for use in the Bookcase Wallbed. Please be aware that even so-called “standard” mattress sizes may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. To take all the guess work out of mattress selection we offer several mattresses with a depth of 11″ or smaller. Please call us with any questions. Our headboards come in three sizes, Standard, Deep, and Storage. The Deep headboard is 5" wide, perfect for holding glasses or books. The Storage headboard is 7" wide and has two storage areas, perfect for storwing pillows and blankets.

Add a Mattress

We offer exclusive Serta mattresses that have been designed to function in a wallbed and can withstand being stored vertically. While you can use any mattress, as long as it is the right height and weight, we strongly recommend customers use these specially made mattresses to extend the life of you bed.

About Our Customizations

Starting with bed sizes you have the option of the standard Twin, Full and Queen. Any one of these wall beds can be constructed in any of our seven wood species including Knotty Alder and Rustic Cherry. Each wood type with their own unique characteristics and traits. Crown molding may be added to your Bookcase Wallbed for $209. Lower doors may also be added to the lower bookcase section for $419.

For you avid readers there is a touch sensitive lighting system option. It comes with variable dimming capabilities. Which is an especially handy addition if you want to enjoy a book without disturbing a partner. To get the most out of your space consider one of Wilding’s side cabinet or home office options. They can be designed to mount directly to your wall bed or separately as standalone units. The size, style, and layout of these units allows you to create something truly unique and also allows you the versatility to utilize your guest bedroom for any number of new uses. To top it off, all of these options can be finished in any one of 27 hand applied finish colors. Truly giving you the ability to create a one of a kind piece.
